Who Really Won the Fight? “pacquiao marquez II”
For all those doubting whether Manny really won his last fight against Marquez, consider this. Manny clearly won rounds 1,3,4,9 and 10 while Marquez clearly won rounds 2 (when he buckled Manny towards the end of the round) and 8(when he opened up a big cut) and maybe the 5th. Rounds 6,7,11 and 12 were close- they can go either way. Marquez could have won round 12 in all 3 judges’ score cards but he got rocked towards the end and there was no meaningful punch in the round. Manny’s aggression carried the fight and he was the one bringing the action. Marquez was a counterpuncher and he seldomly pushed for actions. Without Manny’s aggressiveness, there would have been no fight. Nobody can blame the judges for giving Manny some those close rounds because he initiated everything, for most of the night.
With those rounds above clearly won by Manny, how can you honestly feel that he did not deserve the victory. At worst, it was 6-6 for Pacman. He was the aggressor all night.
